De lunes a viernes, de 9:00 a.m. a 1:00 p.m.
Professor:
Antonella de Michelis
University of British Columbia
This seminar aims to merge the tools and methods of Digital and Global Art History to reveal the connections between the Americas and Rome. The format is interdisciplinary, transnational, and collaborative. Global Art History has demonstrated the need to formulate new research questions and move beyond the confines within which historians have worked and thought for so long.
Closely tied with Global and Post-Colonial studies, this seminar challenges Eurocentrism and the nation-state mindset. The seminar will introduce approaches, research methods, and tools to produce a multi-layered, interactive depiction of Rome. It will use digital tools to explore the city, its artistic heritage, and its interactions with the ‘New World’ in the Early Modern context.
